I’m Natalie Lloyd.
A number of years ago, I wrote 3 short movie scripts with a fun character named Tina Sabrina. Tina Sabrina is loosely based on my best friend, Nikki, with a generous heap of Natalieness thrown in. She had a lot of funny misadventures with her companion, Lawrence Cumberbatch (the straight man to her hilarious predicaments). Yes, I named him Lawrence Cumberbatch. I didn’t realize then that Benedict Cumberbatch was a famous actor. I’m in too far to change his name, though. Lawrence is Lawrence Cumberbatch through and through. They are, quite possibly, my best fictional works. These wondrous scrolls are also lost to the ravages of time (and the death of a hard drive).
I grew up in Northwest Ohio. I moved to Columbus, Ohio when I was 21 years old. Though I wanted to pursue acting, I mostly pursued retail. I also auditioned for a dinner theater troupe and I got in! When I realized that retail is soul sucking, I pursued a cushy corporate job and landed one. I still wanted to act and I pursued film and stage projects on the side. Though I was not that successful, I still managed to end up with an IMDB page (that’s really me!)
It turns out that “cushy” corporate jobs can be just as soul crushing as retail, but in a completely different way. While I loved not being on my feet all day long, I craved a job that would allow me to be creative. I stayed way too long. I traveled a little, but not very much. Even when I got so stressed out that I was a mess, I stayed. In fact, I’d likely still be there if I hadn’t gotten married and had kids.
With that fortunate turn of events (who knew that I’d love momming?) and then having another baby one year after having the first baby, my interests turned to travel and travel blogs. I discovered there were amazing women who traveled solo. They always went neat places, had great stories, and would share beautiful beach pictures.
So I started traveling and travel blogging because I wanted to go to the beach. Now, I live in Mexico, NOT near the beach. However, I travel with my family regularly to see those fantastic Mexican beaches!
This turns out to be my best life.
Come on in, read about how expat life in Mexico is going, how and why I travel with our kids, and some of the cool products that make my travel life better. We fund our own travels and I don’t accept free stays or products.
While you’re here, leave a comment or send an email, and tell me about yourself! Then, go forth and travel.
