Want a bikini body? Then wear a bikini. Yes, it really is that simple. It took me a long time to even wear a swimsuit without trying to cover my body completely with a large t-shirt (this was before rash guards were a common thing), so now I embrace wearing a bikini when I’m at the pool or beach. I especially enjoy cheeky bottoms, because I’m ample in the bottom area. I also have big hips. So, I’d like to share what I think are the best swimsuits for big butts!
Best swimsuits for big butts 2024
I typically buy bikinis as separates, so that I can have the best of all worlds. Every body is different, so it’s easier to find something that fits your body best if you are able to purchase separates. Though this post is catering to those looking for bikinis for big bottoms, other body shapes may also enjoy the offerings here!
Due to living in in a neighborhood with a pool and my desire to visit as many beaches in Mexico as possible, I’ve cultivated quite a lot of swimwear. Here are my favorite swimsuits for big bottoms so far!

Bathing Suit Bottoms (Cheeky Bikinis)
All of these are swimsuits with high waisted bottoms, as that is my preference. I’ve included where the waistline falls, as there are are varying degrees of high-waist.
ZOHAMUNG Black Cheeky Bikini Bottoms Mid Rise
These cheeky little bottoms are awesome. In fact, I’ve found myself wearing them more and more often just because they are that cute! They aren’t high waist, yet they are high enough to cover the stomach poof and tiger lines on my body. The side ties can be tightened and loosened based on your specific comfort level. They do show a decent amount of cheek and I find the most flattering bikinis for big hips (which I have).
The side ties give it a littel extra pizzazz, since all black bottoms can get a little boring. These aren’t! They are one of my favorite bikini bottoms and I wear them frequently. I think these are some of the best bikini bottoms for big butts!
Great for: Mid rise (below belly button), some cheek
COCOSHIP Women’s High Waist Side Straps Bikini Bottom
These cheeky, high waist bikini bottoms look really nice on big butts, but they definitely aren’t for the faint of heart. They are really high waist, first of all. Fully stretched, they meet the bottom of my bikini tops. I fold them and ruch them to sit where I want them. Second, the ruched butt really does end up being a thong bikini. They are cute, cover my stomach nicely, but I find I don’t wear them frequently because of how little they cover in the back. The reason I’ve included them is because they are good quality and I find them comfortable, even if I’m not as daring as I’d envisioned myself when I purchased them. I still love them and if you want very cheeky bottoms that cover your belly, these are an awesome option.
Great for: very high waist (fully stretched, it comes up to my bra band line), very cheeky (almost thong)
Womens Vintage High Waisted Bikini Bottoms
These are great high waisted bikini bottoms. They hit right around the belly button. They are pretty cheeky bottoms. I like where they sit on my waist and hips, which is just under the belly button. The waist has a nice wide band for keeping it in place, which I find comfortable because it doesn’t roll down or move around. It hits right around the belly button.
The part that covers the bum is ruched, which looks really nice. It called be pulled in to look like a thong or rest naturally on the cheeks to partially cover those cheeks. I do like these!
Great for: showing some cheek, keeping the belly under wraps
Bikini Tops
COCOSHIP Women’s UPF 50+ Bikini Top with Double Back Strap
This is one of my all time favorite bikini tops. I think it works well for smell chests and it’s reasonably supportive as a bikini for larger chests. It’s generally available in sizes 32B to 38D (availability varies) and there are multiple color options. They’ve also billed it as a sports bra and indeed, I find it comfortable enough to use as a bra, but not quite supportive enough to use it as a sports bra. I love that it does have padding and makes me look like I have a chest, instead of smashing me down to nothing. I have it in black and I recently spent extra money on getting the slate colored one shipped to me in Mexico. Yes, I LOVE it. It’s an awesome top and I highly recommend it. Classic black will go with any color bottoms you choose, too.
The straps are some adjustable and the clip closure back is not adjustable. This top does not have underwire. The support comes from the criss-cross strap design and padded cups.
This brand makes quality suits and I’ve been happy with every purchase I’ve made from them.
Great for: Supportive bikini top, can be used as a bra
COCOSHIP Women’s Solids Ruched Shirred Bikini Halter
This bikini halter top is super flattering for small chests and I’m a huge fan. It’s not quite as supportive as the other COCOSHIP bikini top, but it still offers enough support for most size breasts. I love it and I think the ruched fabric does make my chest look more ample. On the other hand, the magic that shirred and ruched fabric, it also manages to not amplify larger breasts too much, if that’s what you’re going for.
The halter top is a tie, so you can adjust it for comfort. The band isn’t adjustable and has a clip closure. It does not have underwire.
Great for: Flattering your figure
La Blanca Island Goddess Banded Cut Out Halter Bikini Top
I bought this top in teal, with high hopes that I’d like it. I LOVE it. It’s a fun color and blends well with my varying bikini bottoms, which are all black. It’s completely adjustable, with a tie halter and a tie band. I really like the strap cut outs in the front, which give it a little fun detail that makes it different from my other halter tops of the same style. Also, the fabric is smooth and not ruched or shirred. The teal is a beautiful, bright color and I’m so happy with this bikini top.
It has molded padding and it doesn’t have underwire. The padding is removable. It’s a beautiful top!
Great for: Flattering, multiple colors offered
One piece with cheeky bottoms
Meyeeka Womens Cut Out Front Lace Up Back One Piece
This hot little number comes in multiple colors and is flattering to lots of body shapes. Candidly, I don’t really care whether a thing is flattering or not if I love it. I purchased this in a dark, teal color and it’s gorgeous. It isn’t padded in the chest, so for me, it smooshes my chest more than I prefer. However, I like how the rest of it looks on my body. Even though it has a lace up back, it’s surprisingly simple to put on and it’s a fun suit in my arsenal of swimwear.
It’s designed with cut outs and looks a lot like a bikini. The bottoms are high-waisted and quite cheeky. The top is unpadded without underwire.
Great for: Fake-out bikini (it’s a one-piece with cut outs)
Let’s go swimming!
Hopefully, no matter your body shape and size, you’ll find a great suit that you love. Get outside and go swimming! I still recommend that adults (and kids) wear a rash guard or swim shirt during the hours of 11 am – 3 pm and also use reef safe sunscreen on exposed parts!
