When we are traveling with our kids, we want them to be as comfortable as possible. It’s especially true if we hope they will sleep on the airplane. Of course, you want to find the best kids airplane pillow for their needs. Which children’s neck pillow has the best features? For instance, do you want a travel pillow with a strap or is that not necessary? There are many pillows and they have different pros and cons. Let’s find the best travel pillow for kids!

Best Travel Pillow for Kids

A travel pillow just might become your best friend if it helps your child sleep on a flight. They provide extra next support, so a child isn’t drifting off and then waking up when their head falls forward. Even if they don’t fall asleep, the pillow can help your child be more comfortable throughout a long flight.

Please do not use any pillows in car seats that are not specifically designed for and tested with your child’s car seat, as it can affect their function of keeping babies, toddlers, and kids safe. Please don’t leave your children unattended while using any type of neck pillow. As always, even the best travel pillow isn’t a guarantee that your child will be able to sleep while flying.

Kids Travel Pillow Reviews

Trtl Pillow Junior, Kids Travel Pillow (age 8+)

Of course, Trtl Travel Pillow is one of the top travel pillow brands. They’ve taken their awesome adult pillow and made a version for kids. They didn’t just make it smaller, they had elementary aged kids help them design it! It’s designed to be able to be packed flat and isn’t bulky. The design is similar to the adult pillow, except with a quick release to be easier to take off. It’s made from hypoallergenic fleece, with foam cushioning inserts. This is an awesome pillow for kids.

Best for: Easy to pack, ages 8 and up, Supportive

The Bcozzy pillow comes in child and adult sizes (yay). It also has a strap, so it can be attached to your carry on. This pillow can be twisted and conformed to be comfortable for your child’s needs. It’s also machine washable (follow all laundering instructions for best care). According to Bcozzy, the filling is a lightweight hollow conjugated siliconized polyester fiber.

This is an excellent children’s travel neck pillow and it’s my first choice, due to all the support it offers.

Sloth Hooded Animal Travel Neck Pillow

I love this hooded travel pillow. It’s so soft and cushy. It also has drawstrings to help it fit your head perfectly. The pillow is filled with microbeads, so it’s also supportive. Use the hood to block out people or light while traveling and you can also show off your personality.

Best for: Fun factor, Hood

Can I Use Travel Neck Pillows for a Child in a Car seat?

Do not use any inserts that are not expressly made for the car seat you own. Adding pillows, headrests, car seat weather protection, or other unapproved item can affect the function of the car seat in a crash and put your child at risk.

If your child needs more support, look for headrests made by the same company and for use with your child’s car seat.

What is the Best Travel Pillow for Kids?

My personal favorite is the Bcozzy, which offers neck support and can be conformed to fit best to your child. They also make it in adult sizes!

Final Thoughts

Travel neck pillows are great on the airplane for a child who is old enough to not need a car seat. Being comfortable can promote better sleep on those long flights. That’s a good thing for tired and travel-weary parents. Go forth, travel, and take your kids!
