Love them or hate them, a good travel bra is a necessity. When traveling, we all need things to be easier than they are at home, due to limited washing facilities. When I travel, I want the most comfortable bra that I can find. However, it needs to be versatile enough that it offers quick dry technology and still looks decent. It also needs to provide some support. Let’s look at the best quick dry bras for travel!

Best Quick Dry Bras for Travel 2024

I travel frequently and always carry on only. There’s no way I can pack several bras in my backpack especially without them coming out looking sad. I need undergarments that can be worn more than once, washed easily, and dry quickly. They also need to be able to survive a ride in a suitcase. I also give extra points to comfort, no underwire, and straps that don’t constantly fall down. Let’s get stuck into the list of the top 5 quick dry travel bra options.

Best Travel Bra that Dries Quickly

Here I am wearing my slate gray COCOship bikini/bra top. This is the second one I purchased, even springing for the international shipping costs because I love my first one (purchased in black) so much!

COCOSHIP Women’s Sport Bra & Bikini Top

It makes sense to have a bra that does double duty when you’re traveling, right? First, I want to say that this top looks amazing when worn as a bikini top – in fact, it’s one of my favorites! Second, it offers a lot of support. There isn’t underwire, the cups are padded and supportive, and the straps cross in back. I love that the straps never fall down. This top always travels with me now. I can wear it on a crazy travel day or just while chilling at the beach. It’s one of those universally good tops and will fit and support several chest sizes. Plus, it’ll dry overnight. This is my go-to travel bra and one of my favorite bikini tops. It’s the one I’m wearing in the photo above.

This bikini/bra does not have underwire and comes in multiple bra sizes. The shoulder straps are adjustable, however the strap that goes around the torso is not. I purchased in my bra size and it fits. Both of mine were super snug when I purchased them but have since loosened up just enough to be an even better fit. As of right now, the sizing only goes up to 38 B/C and given that I fall on that larger band size, I know it’s supportive up to that size of chest.

Best for: Support (only up to certain sizes), Comfort, Looks great

Icebreaker Women’s Sprite Racerback Sports Wireless Bras

Icebreaker is an amazing brand for sustainable, long lasting, outdoor geared clothing. This racer-back sports bra provides medium support, which is awesome when you’re hiking, outdoor adventuring, or just running through the airport to catch the connecting flight. It is 85% wool and only 12% nylon and 5% spandex, making it a really solid option. The band is elastic and not covered in wool. Also,, there is no stink! Take it from me, you don’t want to be stinky while traveling. This makes it a great bra to wear in the hot weather.

Best for: Hiking, Hot weather

The Ultra Light Travel Bra with Pockets

The Travel Bra brand quick dry bra is an universally great bra. It has several hidden pockets that can be used to hide valuables, like money and passports. It doesn’t have underwires, making it more comfortable and better for getting through security. Plus, it’s made of a quick drying, soft polymide fabric, for extra comfort. It’s also adjustable. This is a great bra that does double duty for the traveling woman! Be aware that this one runs small, so if you’re between sizes, size up.

Best for:  Theft prevention

ExOfficio Women’s Cross Over Bra

ExOfficio’s cross over bra is made of 94% nylon and 6% Lycra spandex. This is a quick drying fabric and a moisture wicking bra. What does that mean? It’s lightweight and odor resistant, making it a one of the best travel bras for hot weather. This fabric will dry overnight after a sink bath; follow instructions and roll it in a towel to remove excess moisture before hanging to dry.  This bra offers very little support. It’s great if you’re small chested like me, but it’s probably not going to be supportive enough for my larger chested friends.

Best for: Smaller chests, Breastfeeding, Hot weather

Boody Body EcoWear Women’s Padded Shaper Bra

This is basically the same as the Boody Body EcoWear Shaper Bra, except it offers slightly more coverage and also padding. It’s also made up of 80% rayon made from bamboo, with 13% nylon and 7% spandex. Even with the pads, it dries pretty quickly and handles being packed. The padding is removable, which gives it more versatility. One of its best features is that there are no clasps or fasteners anywhere on this bra to be annoying. This is important if you’ve been stuck on an all day travel day with your bra poking you relentlessly (yes, this happened to me!) Bamboo is also cooling, so you can adventure as desired!

Best for: Smaller chests, Sustainability

What makes it a great travel bra?

  • Comfort and fit
  • Ease of use
  • Quick drying
  • No underwires
  • Can handle being packed

Additionally, quick drying bras are the ideal travel bras for hot weather, since they can be easily washed after a day of heavy activity.

How do I wash a bra in a sink?

It’s easy! Fill the sink with water, add your detergent, like this laundry soap bar that I love, and submerge your bras. Let them soak for one hour, then rinse.

For bras without molded cups and underwires, you can roll in a towel to get the excess water out. This will help them dry faster.

Watch the video below for tips!

How should you hang bras to dry?

It’s best practice to hang bras over a bar or hanger in the center, where the cups meet. Don’t hang by the straps.

Why Do You Need a Comfortable Travel Bra?

When I’m traveling, luggage space is at a premium. There’s no way I can fit in several bras, so I need something that can be worn more than once, washed easily, and is light on space. Bonus points for bras whose straps don’t keep falling. I also tend to be more active during my travels, so I want decent support. Less stuff to lug around always helps, whether traveling for a short vacation or a long stretch.

Are people who want a travel bra with more support and underwires SOL?

There don’t seem to be many options for larger chests and underwires if you want a bra with built in pockets, which sucks. The current solution I could see would be to use an attachable bra wallet or pouch with an existing bra that you have. Something like this:
Zero Grid Hidden Bra Wallet

I personally prefer no underwires most of the times nowadays and especially when I travel, though I know that doesn’t work for everyone. I will work on including more options as I come across them for people who need something different in that regard.

I’m a 38D and hate underwire. Which bra is there for me that dries quickly (for hiking and traveling)?
